Information about Marbella

Marbella - a resort located 60 km from Malaga, is considered the pearl of the Costa del Sol.

This is the most luxurious and fashionable resort not only in Spain, but throughout Europe (the so-called 'Spanish Riviera'), which strikes the eye with the beauty of its gardens and parks.

Along the entire promenade stretch sandy beaches of extraordinary beauty, stretching for 28 km, which are surrounded by palm trees from the side of the city. It is this beautiful city, and once a modest fishing village, that attracts the attention of many celebrities, aristocrats and influential businessmen who buy luxury villas here. And together with the sports port of Puerto Banus, it is the capital of luxury life on the coast. Among the owners of mansions are members of the royal families of Europe, the Duchess of Alba and other representatives of the aristocracy; American actors and show business stars (Julio Iglesias, Antonio Banderas with Melanie Griffith, Sean Connery, etc.) and even the King of Saudi Arabia.

The last decades have greatly transformed this city, and today Marbella noticeably surpasses all neighboring cities with its elegance, primarily because it differs from its neighbors by the very concept of the resort: there is no mass tourism here. There are relatively few hotels, and they are distinguished by an increased 'star rating'.

To the north of Marbella rise the majestic peaks of the Sierra Blanca (Sierra Blanca), which are visible from any part of the city. The seven-kilometer city embankment is paved with marble slabs - every day they are washed with a special shampoo, and in the very center of the resort, on Avenida de Mar, there are original sculptures by Salvador Dali, bought with funds from the city treasury. The lack of security around the expensive sculptures is just an illusion: they have been repeatedly tried to be stolen, but to no avail.

Marbella, like many resort towns in Spain, is divided into two parts: the old city and the modern city. However, the architecture of modern buildings in Marbella did not violate at all, but even harmoniously complemented the ensemble of the old part of the city.

The majestic Royal and Thieves' towers here remind of the long-standing rule of the Moors, which have undergone partial restructuring, but, in general, are perfectly preserved. In the Old Town there are many narrow streets connecting small open spaces - 'plazas' (plazas) or squares, of which we recommend visiting the most famous and most beautiful, 'Orange Square' (Plaza de los Naranjos), with a fountain XVII in citrus trees, and in the evening - take a walk along the streets of 'El barrio' and 'La Alameda'. In the vicinity of the town of San Pedro near Marbella, there are even Roman baths from the third century - the baths.

In Marbella, as in all of Spain, they love and know how to have fun. In June, the day of St. Barnabe, the patron saint of the city, is celebrated here. A week of wild fun, open-air concerts and songs of Sevilla is called Feria (Feria de Marbella). The old town is decorated with balloons and flags, and stalls with beer, wine and traditional Andalusian tapas are popping up on every corner.

Marbella is also home to the most prestigious part of the Costa del Sol, the Golden Mile (the section between Marbella itself and Puerto Banus), a place of stunning mansion palaces. It is here that the summer palace of the king of Saudi Arabia is located - the Mar-Mar Palace (an exact copy of the American White House, but three times larger). The possessions of the Saudi king and his family in Marbella occupy 20 hectares, on which, behind a high fence, in addition to the White House, there is a whole complex of buildings, including a hospital and a mosque. The famous Marbella Club Hotel and the aristocratic village of Nueva Andalusia, a meeting place for yachtsmen from different countries, are also located on the Golden Mile.

In Marbella, more prefer to buy property in order to be able to come at any time. Therefore, even in winter, life is in full swing here, without fading, as is often the case in other resorts. Therefore, there is everything for a wonderful relaxing holiday and a carefree life: luxurious restaurants of national and international cuisine, world-class golf clubs and tennis courts, prestigious medical facilities and many excellent schools.
Property in Marbella is the most expensive on the Costa del Sol, but this place is worth it!
