Restaurants on Costa del Sol

The popularity and fame of its gastronomic traditions in general and restaurants in particular has spread far beyond the Costa del Sol.

It should be noted that there are three restaurants here that have received Michelin stars, but besides them, many other haute cuisine establishments are waiting for their stars in the near future. In the village of Benahavis, not far from Marbella, many European restaurant owners keep their experimental laboratories, where new culinary ideas are born that outline new trends in modern cuisine.

For lovers of classic cuisine, the Costa del Sol offers to visit both national (Spanish, Italian, Asian, etc.) restaurants and restaurants with international cuisine, which have a good reputation, proven by time. Almost every five-star luxury hotel has one or more restaurants run by world-famous chefs. The same applies to elite nightclubs. On the first line of the beach in Puerto Banus, there are all the most famous and exclusive boutiques, as well as restaurants with different pricing policies. However, it should be noted that large flows of tourists do not always contribute to the quality of restaurants. Therefore, you should be careful about choosing a place, especially when it comes to restaurants located on the beaches.

There are also many mid-range and low-price restaurants. But it would be reckless to draw conclusions about the quality of the kitchen only in appearance: scattered napkins speak more about the popularity of this place than about the fact that the owners save on cleaning. It is worth avoiding empty restaurants and establishments crowded with tourists. This is what most often says not in favor of the restaurant. But when you see a queue, this is a guarantee of high-quality and tasty food (it is important to check in with the waiter right away). Most of the cozy and inexpensive restaurants do not stand out for designer delights in the design of the premises, but it is there that you can taste the traditional Andalusian cuisine - tapas (a glass of wine with a variety of snacks for every taste). Tapas are especially popular because their price is ridiculously low.

As in the rest of the world, tips in Spanish restaurants are optional (in some tourist areas tips are included in the restaurant bill or follow a separate item at the bottom of the menu (usually 7-10% service charge)). Usually the same amount is left for tea where this line is not. The larger the sum for lunch/dinner, the lower this percentage.
